While celebrating success we should also highlight the epic journey towards success that are filled with trials, tribulations, upsets, setbacks and failures. Its not as glamorous to talk about those things but its important. Failure as much as its hurt is an important part of our life. Most successful people in our life have failed most of the time.
“I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. 26 times,I have been trusted to take the winning shot and missed. I have failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.”
_ Michael Jordan
In order to grow, you need to fail,it is life’s ultimate lesson. Failing will happen ,no matter how hard you try to avoid it so you might as well have a ‘no fear’ attitude towards it. This should not mean you should expect to fail, but when it happens accept it.
Failure has value. Through failure you will get to know yourself better and you will learn from your mistakes. Failure makes us rethink, reconsider and find new ways and strategies to achieve your goals.
When you think about failure, you should not think in a negative light. Yes its painful and causes emotional turmoil and upsets. It inflicts agonizing pangs of guilt ,regrets and remorse. It may even cut deep like a razor slicing its way to your inner core, yet its necessary. The key to success is in how you handle failure. Handling failure does not come Naturally to some people. It an acquired skill. Some of our emotions tell us to sulk and avoid any situation in future that are likely to put us in the line to feel the pain of failure and its where we go astray.
So many times in our life our fear of falling keeps us from beginning. We have to ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’. Start with one small thing, make it something you know you will succeed at….,build your confidence and momentum and keep going. I say this because, the regret of never having tried can hurt worse than trying and failing.
Bear in mind that, the many times you fail are many steps to your success.
