Motivation

There can be no great courage where there is no confidence or assurance, and half the battle is in the conviction that we can do what we undertake.

– Orison Swett Marden

Every successful person has experienced countless setbacks, obstacles, and even outright defeats, in the course of his or her life. What helps is the ability to respond positively and constructively to these defeats and to bounce back. This quality of bouncing rather than breaking should be your determination to your success.

A normal, intelligent person, organizes each area of their lives to avoid failure and disappointment as much as possible. They think ahead and anticipate what could go wrong. They then take the necessary precautions to guard against setbacks and problems, weigh and balance different options then select the course of action that offers the great results.

But, no matter how well they think and plan, things do not always turn out the way they expect.

Murphy’s Law says: ”Whatever can go wrong will go wrong. Of all the things that can go wrong, the worst possible thing will go wrong at the worst possible time and cost the most amount of money.”

Therefore, disappointment comes unbidden. Disappointment will come in spite of your best efforts to avoid it. Disappointment is inevitable and unavoidable. As sure as the sun rises in the east you are going to experience disappointments in your journey to achieve your goals. And the more goals you set and the more things you try, the more difficulties and problems you will have.Since you can’t always avoid disappointment, no matter what you do, the only thing that matters is how you will deal with the disappointment when it comes upon you, unwanted and unexpected. You can’t let it overwhelm you. Don’t blow up, become angry, and give up.

All you have to do is deal with disappointment by taking it in stride. Don’t allow disappointment to stop you from achieving your goals. Recover and continue forward.

Remember,Motivational speaker Charlie Jones says, ”It’s not how far you fall but how high you bounce that counts!” .

Don’t let others define you. Don’t let the past confine you. Take charge of your life with confidence and determination and there are no limits on what you can do or be.

Most people have habits – some are positive, some are not. Successful people tend to have more of the kinds of habits that contribute to their success.

Effective Habits of successful people

PLANNING

One of the most frequently mentioned habits of those who are successful in life is organization. Such organization includes planning as well as setting priorities and goals prioritize “To-Do List” every evening before going to bed to prepare for the next day.

Positive attitude is a small thing that makes a big

Having a positive attitude is not just a result of being successful – it’s one of the root causes of success.Joel Brown refers to gratitude and positive self-talk as priorities in the lives of the ultra-successful. Moreover, Brown says, it’s not enough to express gratitude and a positive attitude. You must also remind yourself why you are grateful in order to achieve a deeper effect.

Be frugal

Being frugal is not the same as being stingy. Frugality is a habit of being thrifty, with money and resources. It is also a habit of being economical. Learning to be economical comes through avoiding waste, which automatically results in efficiency.

Corley notes that wealthy, successful people avoid overspending. Instead, they comparison-shop and negotiate. The result, according to Corley, is financial success through the simple act of saving more money than they spend.

Don’t give up on your power by just thinking you don’t have any

Read a lot

It’s important to note that successful people read. While they also read for pleasure, most use their reading habit as a means to gain knowledge or insight.

For anyone who needs inspiration about the value and importance of reading, look no further than the example of billionaire author, J.K. Rowling, who says she read “anything” as a child. She advises, “Read as much as you possibly can. Nothing will help you as much as reading.”

The Bottom Line;

Most people have habits – some are positive, some are not. Successful people tend to have more of the kinds of habits that contribute to their success.

The good news, for those who wish to be successful, is that cultivating positive habits takes no more effort than developing bad ones.

Some of the best habits of successful people involve only conscious effort, like getting up early every day. Others, such as becoming organized, may take a little more skill and practice but ultimately result in the most desired outcome of all – success.
