Prince Harry

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex interview with Oprah Winfrey is the most searched interview in Google Trends history.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey is the most searched interview in Google Trends history.

The search engine published its “Year in Search” list for 2021 on 8 December, finding that the interview dominated searches in March.

During the two-hour sit-down interview, which aired in the US on 7 March and a day later in the UK, the couple made several revealing but not so much surprising (if you were following Harry and Meghan honestly) statements.

Meghan Markle said she had felt suicidal while living and working as a member of the royal family and that when she tried to seek professional help, she was told it wouldn’t be good for the institution.

Prince Harry and Meghan officially stepped down from their duties as senior members of the royal family in March 2020.

Elsewhere in the interview, Harry revealed that he does not have a relationship with his brother, Prince William.

“The relationship is space, at the moment. Time heals all things, hopefully,” he said.

He also revealed he had been “financially” cut off by his family and that his father, Prince Charles, was not picking up his calls.

Just like the infamous Brexit, we weren’t given the full terms of the deal, we weren’t assured of the implications and the outcome. We no longer have access to Prince Harry and what’s worse the entire UK and Royal Family combined cannot hold our attention for more than 24 hours.

There has been a plethora of comments about what Harry is supposed to be doing. It appears some people have collectively lost their minds and memories. Prince Harry asked to serve the Queen but wanted some independence from the Royal Purse and Royal Rota.

We held whole summit in Sandringham was held and it was decided to let him go. I use the collective word “we” because “we” consider the Monarchy as a family. When you let a member of your family go it’s because you decided that their wishes were impossible to be met.

Prince Harry was very clear about what he was going to do. He said he would continue to serve and that he would be using independent and grassroot media? Why are we suddenly surprised? Who drummed it into our heads that he would “disappear”?

A whole Prince of England, Someone actually thought Prince Harry would be living outside England and he wouldn’t get deals? He wouldn’t be popular and successful outside the Royal Family? I could have told anyone that for free. It would have been better to agree to his plan.

It is not Prince Harry from the outside looking in. Oh no. It is the UK media and Royal Family looking OUT. We can no longer dictate what Prince Harry can or cannot do, how much money he has or how many bathrooms are in his mansion. We are now bystanders waiting for his every move

Just like the infamous Brexit, we weren’t given the full terms of the deal, we weren’t assured of the implications and the outcome. We no longer have access to Prince Harry and what’s worse the entire UK and Royal Family combined cannot hold our attention for more than 24 hours.

Perhaps the British media should just admit that they miss the Sussexes? They should stop pretending that they care about the Royal Family and be transparent about the fact that Harry and Meghan are the most progressive and most interesting couple on the planet. They are all the media care about.

Interesting to see the British media and certain members of the public react in a way after Meghan’s video. The Royal Family itself with their pump and pageantry is part of their allure so what is it about the size of Meghan’s table, her heels, her fresh face, the lush blanket that hurts people so much?

There is a bitterness in the comments that is quite pitiful. But there are actually people like this, who hate to see the success of black women. Their anger is palpable. It won’t have mattered if Meghan wore jeans or sat on the floor, they would still have been unhappy.

Less than 24 hrs after Meghan’s announcements there have been scores of articles, tv commentary far more than I have seen with any initiative by any member of the RF. The Royal Foundation report was released yet the media have found a way to link this to the Sussexes.

Perhaps we should just admit that we miss the Sussexes? The media should stop pretending that they care about the RF and be transparent about the fact that Harry & Meghan are the most progressive and most interesting couple on the planet. They are all the media care about.
