Meghan Markle Supports Altadena Girls Fire Recovery Fund

In a heartwarming display of compassion and generosity, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, recently visited Altadena to support the Altadena Girls Fire Recovery Fund. This fund was founded by 14-year-old Avery Colvert, who was inspired to help her peers affected by the devastating Eaton Fire in Los Angeles.

The Altadena Girls Fire Recovery Fund aims to provide essential items such as clothes, beauty products, and personal care items to young girls who lost their homes in the fire. Avery’s initiative quickly gained momentum, attracting donations from celebrities and brands alike.

During her visit on January 13, 2025, Meghan arrived with new clothing, beauty products, and lunch for the volunteers. She engaged directly with the families affected by the fire, helping the girls with shopping and offering much-needed emotional support. Meghan’s presence brought a sense of hope and normalcy to the community, showing her unwavering commitment to helping those in need.

Meghan’s involvement in the recovery efforts is part of her and Prince Harry’s ongoing support through their Archewell Foundation. The couple has been actively involved in various relief activities, including distributing food and supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire.

Avery Colvert, the young founder of the Altadena Girls Fire Recovery Fund, expressed her gratitude for Meghan’s support. “Having Meghan’s support is unreal,” Avery said. “It means a lot to us and gives us hope that we can rebuild and recover.”

Meghan’s visit not only provided tangible support but also highlighted the importance of community and solidarity in times of crisis. Her actions serve as a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a significant impact on those in need.
