Prince Harry led calls for vaccines to be shared across the world.

Speaking on World AIDS Day, the Duke of Sussex said there were comparisons between Covid and the deadly pandemic of HIV which began 40 years ago this year.

In an outspoken video, the Royal criticised what he called “political failure” to tackle both HIV and Covid – saying monopolies on vaccine production must be ended.

He said: “There are striking parallels between Covid-19 and another deadly pandemic – one that emerged 40 years ago – HIV.

“This is a story about how corporate greed and political failure have prolonged both pandemics, and what we can do to stop it.”

Prince Harry drew the history of the HIV pandemic, “In the early 2000s a wave of activism helped break drug company monopolies, helping give millions of people access to generic medicines at a fraction of the price.”

The video also shows the Duke of Sussex telling a cheering audience: “Many of these vaccines were publicly funded, they’re your vaccines – you paid for them.”

“By ending vaccine monopolies and sharing technology, companies in the developing world can start producing Covid vaccines too.”

The video, released by a coalition of 80+ organisations demanding Covid vaccines be freely available to everyone, also features the Executive Director of UNAIDS Winnie Byanyima.

Ms Byanyima said: “Both have caused millions of deaths and in both cases scientific breakthroughs have meant that for many life could begin again.”

She added: “Then it was access to the first antiretroviral drugs and now it’s Covid-19 vaccines, and once again pharmaceutical companies are making vast profits in the rich world off life-saving medical advances while the poor are being left behind.”

Warning of the dangers of not sharing life-saving vaccines, the video estimates around 12m people died in Africa alone of HIV before access to life-saving drugs became widespread.

The head of the World Health Organisation, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, strongly criticised rich countries earlier this month for stockpiling vaccines while poorer countries went without.

“Every day, there are six times more boosters administered globally than primary doses in low-income countries,” he said. “This is a scandal that must stop now.”

Meghan Markle took the time on Ellen DeGeneres show to advocate for paid family leave in the United States—one of her signature causes—emphasizing on how critical it is, in those first few months, to be together as a family.

DeGeneres, who is the couple’s neighbor and close friend in Montecito, joked that she was coming over for Thanksgiving.

Meghan Markle Opens Up About Archie, Lilibet, and Prince Harry on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Megan Markle opened up about her young children, Archie and Lilibet, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show—one of the few times she has done so in public since leaving the royal family.

First she spoke of their Halloween costumes. Archie was a dinosaur, but that lasted “about five minutes,” said Meghan Markle. It’s also Seems Ellen DeGeneres spent the holiday with the Sussex family, as she countered that it was “not even five minutes,” and that “Harry talked him into putting the head on.”

The audience also learned that baby daughter Lilibet is teething and Archie “loves to dance.”

“Someone told H (Prince Harry) and I, when you have one kid, it’s a hobby; when you have two kids, it’s parenting,” joked Meghan Markle.

DeGeneres asked how the family was settling into California—especially Prince Harry. “He loves it,” Meghan Markle responded. “We’ve just been able to spend a lot of time at home, and creating our home.”

“We’re just happy,” she added.

Then, since this is DeGeneres we’re talking about, they had a little fun. The talk-show host sent the duchess out on the studio lot to interact with some vendors who had set up small outdoor gift shops. The twist? She had an earpiece in, connected to DeGeneres, who humorously dictated her every move. She made Markle rub crystals against her head while chanting, don cat ears, and taste-test hot sauce samples. (“Mommy wants some heat,” Markle was forced to tell the salesman.)

At the end, Meghan Markle together with Prince Harry and Archewell foundation donated $20,000 to Twist of Greatness, a nonprofit started by Nashville woman Brittany Starks, which offers free hair braiding to schoolchildren whose families otherwise cannot afford the service.

Make no mistake. This is a take down – one woman, That is Meghan Markle The Duchess of Sussex against the monstrousity that is the British media. One may think that the media is in the Monarchy’s pockets but may very well be that it is the Royal Family that is inside the media’s pockets.

I stumbled on the comments of an article about Meghan. It’s amazing the lies that are paraded as facts – these lies are now the reasons people tell themselves to justify their hatred. Get this- you see tabloid media make a concerted effort against one woman – look closer.

Never ever join in with the media on a hate campaign without being certain of its roots. Google- for everything you see in the tabloid- find out exactly what happened, do not rely on their interpretation. If they say there was a speech, listen to the whole speech yourself.

Go in with an open mind. Check for yourself every event or speech Meghan made while working as a Royal and without the influence of tabloid opinion ask yourself if you SAW or HEARD any wrong doing. The answer is NO.

Work chronologically and review the tons of thousands of articles written about her and compare to her actual engagements and speeches- it makes absolutely no sense the level of hate directed at her for existing alone.

Remove the unfortunate utterances of her father and family which she could not control and the fact that she could not defend herself while she was a member of the Royal family. Ask yourself under what circumstances will the palace feel obliged to share intimate details with the press?

What sin could she have committed? Forget the Oprah interview- to me that was her only rebuttal after the onslaught of media abuse that she faced. In my opinion, she held back at that interview. I don’t think I would have been that kind.

Make no mistake. This is a take down – one woman against the monstrousity that is the British media. I had thought that the media was in the Monarchy’s pockets. It may very well be that it is the Royal Family that is inside the media’s pockets.
